Meteorological modernization serves as the core support and strategic foundation for enhancing the precision of meteorological monitoring, forecasting, and early warning, strengthening meteorological service capabilities, fortifying the first line of defense against meteorological disasters, empowering high-quality economic and social development, and safeguarding national ecological security. To further showcase and facilitate the exchange of the latest advancements in equipment and technologies within the meteorological industry, as well as developments in lightning protection technologies and products, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in meteorology, and enhance the socio-economic benefits empowered by meteorological services, the Chinese Meteorological Society plans to hold the "19th China Meteorological Modernization Expo (CMHE 2026)" in Chengdu in May 2026. The theme of this expo is "High-Level Self-Reliance and Self-Improvement, High-Efficiency Empowerment for Development."
Since its inception, the expo has received strong support from departments and organizations such as the China Meteorological Administration, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Hydrology Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources, and the International Association of Hydro-Meteorological Equipment Industries, as well as dedicated assistance from related domestic and international enterprises.
Leveraging Chengdu's robust industrial clusters and outstanding leading enterprises, the 19th expo will focus on displaying the latest achievements and trends in meteorological modernization. It aims to provide new opportunities for industry exchange and product展示 for enterprises in fields such as meteorology, hydrology and water resources, lightning protection, and environmental monitoring. It will also open a new window for industry professionals to understand and participate in the meteorological industry, creating a new platform for deep integration and exchange among industry, academia, research, and application. Relevant domestic and international organizations are cordially invited to participate in the exhibition with advanced equipment, instruments, new technologies, software development, public meteorological services, and diverse meteorological service products in areas such as AI-powered meteorological services, meteorological low-altitude economy, meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation, lightning protection, hydrology and water resources, and environmental monitoring. Participants are also encouraged to deliver specialized promotional reports. During the expo, multiple seminars and thematic exchanges will be held, inviting experts to discuss industry policies and technological trends. Relevant organizations are welcome to become co-organizers or supporting units of the expo and participate in the organization of the 19th edition.
