ACHEMA, one of the world's leading trade fairs for the process industry, will expand its global footprint in 2026 with the opening of a new Middle East edition in Saudi Arabia. Organized by DECHEMA in partnership with Messe Frankfurt am Main, the inaugural ACHEMA Middle East edition is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2026, and is scheduled to be held every three years thereafter.
The new initiative, which has the full support of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, fits perfectly with the Saudi Vision 2030 agenda. As Saudi Vision 2030 aims to diversify the national economy and stimulate growth in key industrial sectors, ACHEMA Middle East is expected to serve as a regional hub for the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, providing a platform for professionals, companies and policy makers to discuss the trends and dynamics that are shaping the industry. . The organizers are aiming to attract around 400 international exhibitors for the inaugural edition.
In addition to the core exhibition program, the show will be complemented by an extensive conference program dedicated to providing insights into industry innovations, regulatory policy developments, and future-focused cutting-edge technologies, as well as facilitating the dissemination of knowledge and exchanges across the region.
The cooperation between DECHEMA and Messe Frankfurt am Main is a key step in ACHEMA's international expansion strategy, which is driven by DECHEMA's more than 100 years of experience in organizing the ACHEMA trade fair in Frankfurt and its strong industry expertise, in conjunction with Messe Frankfurt am Main's extensive global trade fair network and strong capabilities in organizing international events. The exhibition is a joint effort to drive this process forward.
Given Saudi Arabia's increasing investment in industrial infrastructure and technology, ACHEMA Middle East is expected to be a key meeting place for process industry stakeholders from the region and beyond. The show's focus covers a wide range of areas including chemical processing, environmental technology, plant engineering and digital transformation within the industry.
As the Middle East continues to consolidate its position as a center for innovation, manufacturing and economic transformation, ACHEMA Middle East joins a growing lineup of industry-specific shows in the Gulf region, and with its debut in Riyadh in 2026, the show has the opportunity to meet the emerging opportunities and collaborative needs of the Middle East region and beyond.
